I caught a glimpse of myself from the past yesterday..and I was sort of jealous. DD and I had to run up to the store for a super quick trip, coming out of the grocery store was a young woman with similar hair cut..but done..her make up was done..she had a cute pair of jeans on..a cute shirt...cute shoes..the whole 9 yards. And there I was...jeans that have seen better days, a couple of tanks tops...flip flops...no make up..and hair very crazy looking. What happened? I always swore that when I became a mom and stayed at home...I wouldn't "let it go"...but I did. Every once in awhile I'll go through a phase that lasts maybe a day or two,but I remember the time of getting up for work and doing it all up to a T and walking out the door all super cute..not so much anymore...not that I would trade going back to work for staying home with dd...becoming a mom was truly the only thing I ever wanted to do..but couldn't I do it with a touch of class or at least a touch of cuteness. Ah well...so there are my thoughts of the day..

On to more fun stuff..I posted a new set of dish clothes yesterday...these are in a "earth" color..they have brown, tan, and a slate blue..very neutral. They are 10.5 x 10.5. (picture is linked to the listing for more info)

I'm also proud to say that the kitty towels should be listed the beginning of next week at the latest. After has some paint issues....removing a tip the black paint exploded on a towel (that towel will have to be turned into a pillow) I had to redo the halloween towel...so that just needs to final stitching and painting done and they will be ready to go. I am very excited. I will be listing them in pairs..the first two Halloween and Christmas and the last two Valentines and America.

Don't forget if you haven't already to enter my contest a couple of posts below.

I think I am going to try to start a weekly feature regarding sales and coupons. After yesterday's grocery experience, I thought I might be able to help people out with some of the information I have learned. For those that are really interested, a great site to use is http://www.hotcouponworld.com/. Unfortunately, today's will be a quick one...little one is up and playing in her crib already.

Let's start with this week's Meijer ad..they are listing 10 for $10 with the 11th free on many items...some of the freebies or almost free I found with double coupons (.50)

Betty Crocker Warm Delights= .50/1 (week 6/28 inserts, or at http://www.smartsource.com/, or at http://www.bettycrocker.com/ or at http://www.coupons.com/) = free

Betty Crocker Cookie Mix = .40/1 (http://www.bettycrocker.com/) = .20 each

Now I know that these are just odd examples, many people would say but we don't use those but these are just a couple quick examples..next week I will go more in depth (when I have more time). Plus is you get them for free, why not give them a try..you might like them. I personally got 2 of the oatmeal cookie mixes (although I always make our cookies from scratch) to use to make a crumble for crisps when I'm in a hurry and need a quick dessert.

I also wanted to let you know that Kroger has crest on sale for $1.00. There are many coupons out there that will make this free (week's 7/5 and 6/5 PG insert)

Anyways..I hope this helps..now I'm off to start the day.

Happy Happy Friday everyone. I'm so excited to be able to stay at home today. At the beginning of the week I wanted nothing more than to stay home as much as possible this week...and what have I done..run around all over the place. So today and tomorrow..I am home bound and very happy. Yesterday, I went out on a wild goose chase. I heard that Target has a big July clearance on toys and some baby dolls were included in this. So, I pack us all up first thing in the morning for the 45 min drive (can you believe that 45 mins..where I lived before we moved here I would have to say I had at least 10 within a 45 min distance. ) to check it out. I get there...nothing..no dolls were on clearance...pretty much no girl toys at all were on clearance and definitely not any that were appropriate for a two year old. Figures right. I'm sure we've all had the frustration on chasing after something and it just not working out. Ah well..I guess I learned my lesson..but I'm sure I will do it again because after all I am a deal chaser. I also went on another wild goose chase trying to find a couple farmer markets that I saw signs for only to run into road closures and ever worse getting nervous because I'm in the middle of no where and finding a big body of water that I didn't know excited and a new freeway I didn't know about..so had to turn around. Yesterday was an adventure to say the least.

Okay..I am considering doing a giveaway and I'm wondering what everyone would be interested in seeing..a $5.00 gift certificate, a dish cloth, or a soap saver? Please comment and let me know.

Here is a sneak preview of what I'm going to be listing this afternoon. As always, I am giving my followers an opportunity to "pre order" it before I do the public post. I will be listing this set for $10 plus the $3.00 shipping. I am offering it to you at a 25% off discount before I list them this evening. Please either convo me here or leave a comment here. They are a large of 11 x 11. They are machine and dryable. They are 100% cotton so expect a small about of shrinkage and will get softer with each use.

I will also offer 25% off all kitchen and bath items wtih the mention of this post. www.funnyface12345.etsy.com

Wednesday's = grocery day at my house. I have such mixed feelings about grocery shopping. I enjoy the hunt and I actualy enjoy doing the shopping (as long as dd behaves..lol) but of course as most other people it's the paying the I hate..lol Now, I have to tell you that I am one of "those" people. Yup, I coupon...like crazy. I have an expandable folder and a 1in binder packed full. I look forward to hunting the deals out..find out what I can get that we use for free or extremely cheap. My goal is for my savings on the receipt to always be more than my out of pocket amount. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen especially the last few weeks...but I guess you can beat them every week. I am happy that I am slowly cutting our grocery bill down while we are eating better than we were before.

I've decided to give a little sneak peak at what I have been working on for that last couple weeks...these are the reason that I have slowed down with posting new items because I've been working on these. There is still need to be cleaned up and I am waiting on some tri chem paints that I was able to get off ebay. I'm very excited about these. There are actually too more to complete this set. I'm trying to decide whether to list them individually or as a set. Once I complete this set I'm going to be starting a collection use a vintage pattern (of course I will keep the pattern intact not to detroy the intergity of the vintage piece). I am very very excited about these. I will be keeping up with my crochet pieces as well. In fact...now I have to run to finish the last dish cloth of a purple, blue and yellow set...very pretty. Of course I always this they are all very pretty. :)

What a fabulous weekend. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well. My Mom was in town since last Thursday. We went exploring in a fun little city not to far from here. We actually spoke with a young lady who is a fellow Etsian about the possiblity of doing consignment in her shop, I am hoping to hear from her today. Very excited about that. Went to a local fleamarket and found a beautiful (or will be) storage bench for only $15. It needs to some tender loving care..but that is okay. To top is all off, we got a small batch of green beans canned. My Mom had to help me there because I was terrified of the pressure cooker. My MIL had gotten me a really nice high end one that has sat in the closet for a couple years now but with my mothers teaching I have learned not to fear it as much. I still have about 18 more jars to go. Today, however, I am planning on making strawberry jam. I picked up 10 qts of strawberries yesterday and am almost ready to go. Oh..and my mom was gracious enough to suggest the dh and I go out on a date while she was here to watch the little one...so we visited a very nice restaurant here in town The Warehouse and it was FABULOUS. It's an old train station from the 20's I believe that has been turned into a restaurant..very nice with a very casual atmosphere and kid friendly. We are planning on going back. I think that is all about it...I did have a sale on Etsy for a couple sets of dishclothes...which is fabulous. So...all is all a wonderful weekend.

Well...it's the start of another week. Monday's always seem to hold something exciting...what shall the week bring. It will be a busy week as usual. I have to do some baking for the shut-ins at our church, apply for health insurance, and my mom is coming down for a visit...plus of course all of the normal things. It will be a fun week. I'm super excited about a new project I'm working on. I am embroidering flour sak towels. I'm not sure whether to label them vintage or not...the design/style is vintage but it's all new items so I have no idea how that works. Anyways..it will be a few weeks before they are ready to list. I also discovered this past week that ballpoint paints are still in existence. I thought they were a thing of the past..my mom had my grandmother's set when I was growing up...I use to love those things and all the things so imagine my excitement to discover they are still around and would go hand in hand with my current projects. Suddenly my mind starts spinning on all the fun items I could do...pillows, pillowcases, sheets, towels, blankets...the possibilities are endless. Now to just get a hold of them..ideally I would love to be able to sell most of the items in my store to invest in the full starter kit...but more than likely I will just have to piece the sets together...but whatever I'm still very excited..I actually dreamed about it last night.

I am listing a new item today..a 3 piece dish/wash cloth set. These turned out very pretty..there are 2 white with specks of hot pink, purple, yellow, and orange with a hot pink border. The third is hot pink with a white border. They are larger at 11 x 11. I also want to mention really quickly that the bath puffs in the shop are 25% off. The pictures are a bit blurry and I'm hoping to sell them off before relisting and having to take some better pictures.

I also wanted to mention this sweet shop that I found. http://www.daisygirldesign.etst.com/. I was drawn to her store first because of the name (I love daisy's) and the bright pretty banner...but she has some really fun items in there. Items like frames, photo holding clothespins, post-it note holder, notepads and fun decorated mailboxes that would be great as a unique gift wrapping or as decoration at a party to hold the cards. I would definitely check this store out.

What a busy day...originally planned on playing outside all morning with my daughter however those plans were dampened by the rain..which was all good because we do need it. So we worked inside instead, cleaning the house, making cookies and dinner. Got a whole lot done today which is always a good thing. I also took the photos of some new products I'm working on posting. One tomorrow and then the other next week. Fun times. I have decided to try something new...

A set of 4 picnic placemats measuring 15x11 with a utensil pocket in cornflower blue and white. Each placemat rolls up and ties closed. They are being listed on 7/10 at 6:30 am for $20.00 plus $4.00 shipping. Contact me at http://www.funnyface12345.etsy.com/ prior to their listing and receive them for $15.00 plus the $4.00 shipping.

The start of a new week. A chance to start fresh...a do over. What will this week bring? I guess that will answer itself in time.

I love getting up early before the little one gets up. At least in theory I do. I would love to get more sleep however there is something so peaceful during the early morning when the house is quiet. It's a quiet that can't really be found the rest of the day except maybe at night. It's such a beautiful day out so far...a nice cool breeze running through the house...a cloudless sky. Today holds the promise of being a good day. Now...I just need to hold on to that once the kaos begins.

I did get the placemats finished this past weekend. No pictures taken yet. I also got started on a fun wash/dish cloth set. I think they are some really neat color combinations. Here is a sneak peak at what I will be posting later today. A Green kitchen set including: 3 dish clothes, a dish towel, and a sponge. There is also a bonus gift of a second sponge as well as free shipping with this set.

Click this link to see this set on Etsy.

Happy 4th of July. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. I'm not sure what we are going to be doing today. Maybe visiting the fair or we might wonder of to the fleamarket. Being new in town, I'm not sure where any fireworks are, although even if we found them I'm pretty sure my 20m old would not appreciate them.

As for the store...it's kind of slow right now which is to be excpected. I am spending some time promoting on different, getting the store listed in some search engines. I'm also working on some projects. I have 3 really neat belt/scarf/headwrap combo's finished that I'm just working on finding a model for. I'm finishing up these really neat picnic placements..they roll up and have pockets for the utensils. I was bumbed not to be able to get the final one done in time to post for this weekend..but that is my own fault..I was sidetracked the really fun yarn I found for the belts..lol

Everyone...again I hope you all have a great holiday.

July 2nd already...time really does fly.

I have just finished doing a revamp of sorts to the etsy store. Created a new banner and posted some new better photos of a few of the items. Also, all kitchen and bath purchases come with a free gift. I am hoping to really get going with the store.

As for life...we are venturing out to the local farmers market this afternoon. It should be interesting since I've never been a real farmers market. I'm not quite sure what to expect but I'm looking forward to it.
